Nathmastakam O.N.V....................

The Highest Literary Award Jnanpith in the country for the year 2007 have been won by Malayalam Lyrics writer and Malayalam language Poet, Ottaplavil Neelakanthan Velu Kurup, Popularly known as O.N.V. Kurup.


                            O.N.V. Kurup who bestowed with the Padmashree Award in 1998, has been opted by the jury for this award for the year 2007, Earlier in 1989, 79 year old Malayalam Poet won the National Award of Best Lyricist for the movie "Vaishali" directed by Bharathan. ONV also won the 13 times Kerala State Awards for the best lyricist. O.N.V. Kurup became the fifth Malayalee after G.Sankara Kurup, S.K.Pothekad in 1980, Thakazhi Siva Shankara Pillai in 1984 and M.T.Vasudevan Nair in 1995 who would have won the Jnanpith Award. 


               Well ONV Mash deserved this before but not so late, cheers being a Malayalee.
