Renowned Malayalam poet and lyrics writer Mullanezhi breath his last today at a private hospital in thrissur. On 21 october (Friday) ,Mullanezhi was admitted in the hospital following a chest pain. 63 year old poet was born on May 14, 1948 in Ollur Avanaserri Mullanezhi Mana in Thrissur.


                            Mullanezhi had served as teacher and later on become the poet,lyrics writer and actor. Kerala Sahitya Academy Award was bestowed upon him twice in the year 1995 and 2010. "Njavalpazham" was the movie in which, Mullanezhi received the Kerala State Award for best lyricist in 1981. Mullanezhi had acted in movies like "Neelathamara", "Uppu", "Piravi", "Kazhakam" and He had penned lyrics for around 70 songs in 22 films. Mullanezhi's last film as a lyrics writer was recently released Ranjith directed "Indian Rupee".
