Review : "Shutter"
The film that appears perversely contrary to the expectation of a viewer, that is Joy Mathew directed "Shutter". Screenplay of this malayalam film is an absolute blinder, where the characters are bonded in their life without their attention. No doubt it deserves the applaud and hope that audience will also turn in numbers to get inside of this Shutter.....
It all wind up in 48 hours, where we go through the life of a Gulf Malayali Rasheed (Lal), who happens to land up in town for the engagement of his daughter Nila (Riya Saira) and On this visit, Rasheed wants to put on some business in his shop, which he had bought earlier
as investment purpose. Empty Shop turns out to be the social gathering for Rasheed and his friends. In this hours, we have an auto rickshaw driver Nanmarayil Sura (Vinay Fort), who works and do everything on behalf of Rasheed. As we move a scriptwriter Manoharan (Sreenivasan) came to the city to fetch the dates of a star.
Occasion was loud, Rasheed feels intense for liquor, where he accompany Sura to bring on more, while on the street, Rasheed noticed a streetwalker Thankam (Sajitha Madathil) and get back to the vacant shop, where Rasheed asks Sura to lock the shop from outside and to bring on some more liquor. After this some unfortunate incidents takes place in the life of Rasheed, which takes you to the climax of this story.
Director Joy Mathew's perception to stand out the character is appreciative, where every character goes through the high voltage of intricacy. Although the technical side played the best part with the classic visuals from Hari Nair add on more wider aspect to the ratio. Some nice cuts from Bijith Bala as well.
Vinay Fort and Sajitha Madathil scores the maximum of this film, where Sajitha proved it by winning Kerala state award. Lal and Sreenivasan also done the their respective characters in a outstanding manner. Riya Saira, Nisha Joseph, Augustine, Prem Kumar, Appunni Sasi and others gave their best to the characters. Songs maintained the tempo along the storyline, which has been composed by Shahabaz Aman. For the banner of Abra Films, Saritha Ann Thomas is the producer of this malayalam movie "Shutter", which is distributed through Gold Coin Motion Pictures.
