Review : "Ladies and Gentleman"

Expectations was high, especially when you are going for a movie of director Siddique, but sorry to say his latest offering "Ladies and Gentleman" went out of the way to hit the wrong target. Director Siddique, who had worked on with some brilliant technicians in the Indian cinema, shatters the dream of a good film. However films seems to carved for the Mohanlal fans, no other reason to smile..., Just one time watch....

Another one for Mohanlal as drunkard, The film revolves around existence of Chandrabose (Mohanlal), who is in deep distress after being staying separate from his wife Achu (Meera Jasmine). Chandrabose and his close associate is Mani (Kalabhavan Shajohn) and both of them on the way in midnight lands up in the life
of a guy Sharath (Krish J Sathaar), who was about to perpetrate the suicide after being lost out in the placement in the campus interview, while Chandrabose assure him of a job.

On the other side in the proceedings, Mohanlal gets mingled with the three ladies Anu (Mamta Mohandas), Jyothi (Padmapriya) and Chinnu (Mithra Kurien), but he holds a special place for wife in his heart. Three ladies are pretty ambitious and wants to start an IT firm, where Chandrabose helps them to start the joint venture, which start of blossom a successful one. Sharath also joins them to make it a group of four young one's , while some unexpected events and verbal quarrel led them to their own way, that lead to the rest of the story.

Director Siddique has lost in the glorified world of Superstar Mohanlal, where the director forget about the script and too much characters develop the story in an uncanny manner. Here question arises is director Siddique can give it a different aspect rather than making a Masala film. In this global scenario and film making tends to change in minutes, while director Siddique hadn't taken the advantage of the big budget. Satheesh Kurup's visual composition is nice, while editing could be more precise by K R Gowri Shanker.

Mohanlal as usual gave it his best to the character which hasn't too much to do with the weak storyline. Meera Jasmine doesn't get the enough of the scenes, while others Mamta Mohandas, Padmapriya and Mithra Kurien have given a fulfilling approach to the characters. Krish J Sathaar, Kalabhavan Sha John, Manoj K Jayan, K B Ganesh Kumar, Sivaji Guruvayoor, Krishna Kumar, Subi and others have done the characters in their proper way. Songs are at the okay level with the touch of Ratheesh Vegha and the lyrics by Rafeeq Ahamed and Salavodheen Kecheri. For the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and Confident banner, Antony Perumbavoor and C J Roy are the producers of this Malayalam movie "Ladies and Gentleman", which has been distributed by Aashirvad Release through Maaxlab.
